Battle of the Bands or to Battle with it.....

I have been asked about what we(in Dublin)do for our Teen concerts/ band nights. Here is the information that they are looking for:

"We used to host teen concerts, which from what I've gathered, were very successful, but they were brought to a halt a few years ago after some issues and safety concerns arose. Now, we're looking at bringing them back, which I'm very excited about, but of course I have a lot of research to do as to selection process, security, age restrictions (for bands and concert goes), etc. before this happens.

I was wondering if you might be able to give me a breakdown of your process for selecting bands? What are your age restrictions?"

Please share your secrets for a safe but fun teen concert.

Our selection process is easy....give me a cd or a myspace link I can listen to. They cannot swear or remove clothing while on stage. They sign a contract. I actually pay the bands so it gives me leverage. Age restriction for bands is 20. Concert goers I cant control because they are outside on public property. We have police officers present at all concerts and we do three in the summer.

We do the same as katmhunn minus paying the bands. We actually don't do "Battles", we have a Teen Concert in the Park and Open Mic Nights. Open Mic Nights make it easier to select as they have to sign up and sign a contract ahead of time.
