Intergenerational Activity Ideas Wanted

2009
Hello fellow RecWavers,
There seems to be some interest in our community to do some intergenerational activities with the members of our Senior Center and the younger generation. Some ideas that I have are Wii contests/games having the younger kids come in and teach the seniors how to play the various games, then pair up and compete as teams.
Another thought was something for Veterans' Day, possibly having the younger crowd (teenagers/college students perhaps) do a Q&A luncheon with area war vets to learn about their experiences and thoughts on their years in the service and the wars.
We're in the early stages of these things and am looking for any other suggestions on how to fine tune these ideas as well as any other new ideas.
One challenge with our Senior Center members, is they are the older generation, and their grandchildren are adults and great-great children are faily young still.
Your thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

Intergenerational Programs
I work at an Assisted Living for Memory Impaired Adults. We have students come in and assist with Bingo, bringing prizes for the seniors, assisted them cover their numbers.
Another group came in and performed skits, led singalongs and ended with a group prayer and songs.
Circle Kickball is pretty fun too, witht the seniors sitting in the circle and the young people standing and keeping the ball rolling the the center and outskirts of the circle.
Hope this helps someone else.
