I am curious to know how other parks and rec facilities deal with inappropriate workout attire. We have not had to "spell out" what is not appropriate, but lately we have one guy who wears tight bike shorts and a cut off mid driff t-shirt that is absolutely disgusting. He is in good shape, but many members and employees have complained about his attire. We have talked to him and he feels like his dress is fine and he sees others dressed inappropriately (i.e.- sports bras on women). He said he'd contact his lawyer if he is not permitted to wear what he feels is appropriate. He recently was approached by another male member, but that did not help.
Any ideas? If you could share policies, that would be helpful. We will be talking to our legal staff.
